UPCOMING EVENTS

Mark June 12th on your calendar! You’re invited to the Seventh Annual RAYMOND JAMES – BE A HERO Golf Tournament at Michaelbrook Golf Club in Kelowna. This annual event raises funds for orphans and other children at risk, saving lives and bringing hope. Since 2005, RAYMOND JAMES – BE A HERO golf tournaments have contributed more than $34,000 to orphanages and schools in India, Kenya, Mexico and Philippines. Registration fee of $75 includes 9 holes of golf, dinner and really great prizes.
This year’s proceeds will benefit BE A HERO’s work rescuing orphans from garbage dumps, girls from brothels and children from the streets. An estimated 1.2 billion children are considered at risk globally. Children affected by extreme poverty, homelessness, AIDS and plagues, and war become child labourers, slaves, sex trade workers, child soldiers or die of hunger, abuse or disease.
Our children are blessed with clean water, medical care and schools, government programs that care for orphaned or other “at risk” children, food banks and other services for the poor, high safety standards, and laws that protect the vulnerable. We don’t see children sleeping in the streets, or digging for food in garbage cans here, and we shouldn't see it anywhere
BE A HERO is a registered US, Canadian and Australian charity working in 24 countries with partner organizations to build and operate orphanages, schools, medical clinics and other projects; develop micro-enterprise, advocate, and network. Since inception in late 2003, BE A HERO has disbursed over $8,300,000 to bring children into the safety of a home, providing them with food, clothing, their own bed, freedom from exploitation, medical care, schooling, and love. Check them out at www.beahero.org

Come on out and have fun!
