Be
A HERO is pleased to report that the project in Bujumbura,
Burundi has been completed in partnership with A.R.M.
The first
C.R.I.B. house was established in 1993 by Christine
Chapman in an effort to provide homes for the orphaned children
once the war broke out.
 Burundi
is still at war; a security perimeter wall has been built around
the village to provide a barrier from the violence in the
area. This
serves to separate these
precious children from the perils that lay just outside that
partition.
To allow for better conditions and a more fiscally minded
endeavour it was determined that a new building owned and
operated by C.R.I.B. was required.

The plans were
set in place and funds supplied
to produce a new building that is divided into two sections.
One side is designed for the
boys and the other for girls.
Each section on
the top floor has 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms as well as a
sitting room.
Downstairs
there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in addition to a sitting
room and a kitchen. As well as the children living there, each
section has 2 house mothers to care for them.
The building has been designed so that everyone can utilize a
covered balcony for activities. The covered area also serves as
a dining room. The 48 orphaned children now enjoy a homey
atmosphere and the luxury of a shower and bathroom amenities.

C.R.I.B is well pleased with the new arrangement. The
dormitories and school are well
supervised and
have created
a secure and healthy location that will
cost less to
run than the former premises. Most importantly, the children can
feel secure in a permanent facility.

A big thank you to all the HEROES who contributed towards
this project.
