AGAPE CHILDREN'S HOME
Be A HERO partners with Agape Children’s Home to provide them with operating expenses (through our Child Sponsorship Program) and raising funds for building new buildings.
From war-torn cities to impoverished jungle villages, Africa is staggering under a load of orphaned children. The Agape Children's Home was established in Accra, Ghana to embrace destitute children who have lost both parents. It is a full-service residential program caring for the whole child. Agape Children’s Home was founded by Rev. Richard and Donna Whitcomb. In 1997 Rick was ministering in Liberia. He visited an orphanage and was touched by the plight of the kids - they were living in such deplorable conditions! Rick prayed that if God would make a way for him to help Africa’s orphans, he would do whatever he could. At the end of 1999, the Lord miraculously gave them seed money to begin caring for needy children. In July, 2000, the Agape Children’s Home opened it’s doors.
